Reef Express with Blue Bubbles
I would like to express to you my family's severe disappointment regarding our experience with Blue Bubbles "Reef Express" excursion in St. Maarten. According to the trip's description we had high expectations. Instead of what was described, we received a high speed boat ride and little else. Our "Captain" was Terry, who I'm sure is a nice young man, but is not very well suited as a tour guide. He did not give us any information about any of the things that we were passing speedily by. In fact, he could not even answer the questions that we had for lack of hearing us - he wore headphones for the entire duration of the trip. Instead of providing information he simply listened to his music and ignored us entirely.Terry seemed to be in a hurry for the entire excursion, in fact, by the time we reached Marigot he said we only had 24 minutes. We spent that entire time in line for the restroom and saw nothing of the town. Immediately proceeding our restroom visit we had to get back in the boat so as not to be late. The trip description reads, "shopping & lunch in Marigot" - neither of which were possible. Once back in the boat we had a brief stop at a nearby beach for snorkeling and then back in a rush to the cruiseship. The speed in which Terry drove at this point of the day was dangerously fast. We were all very fearful about the speed and wave crashing that we experienced next. Our kids were not provided with life jackets and we felt completely vulnerable to these unsafe circumstances. If there was not enough time to run the excursion as advertised then why was the boat not gassed up before we left? We spent considerable and valuable time at the beginning of our day waiting in line to get gas for the boat. I painstakingly researched shore excursions before we left and am now feeling "ripped off". I strongly suggest that you look elsewhere for a safer and more enjoyable experience.
